Wildcat’s Art Sundays – So…this Webcomic: 5/27/2012
Hey, I did get a sketch done today. I’ve been working on a secret project a lot lately, but I do want to share things with you all. Here’s a drawing of Trent and Marie, considering their coupled-ness or something.
I’m working on hips right now. I’ve got some progress to make, but these aren’t too bad.
Dragon Quest Imagery is Done!
Yes indeed, I have finally gotten around to formatting my Dragon Quest VIII art and got it uploaded into the DQ Imagery. The Hero, Yangus, Jessica and Angelo have several pieces each, including hard-to-find art that I personally have done some tweaking to. There’s still some scans of the civilians to put up down the road, but this stuff is what I wanted to get onto the Imagery, and now it’s there. So I’m declaring it finished. Enjoy the excellent art!
Artistic Discussion – The Good and Bad of Gaming Box Art: 5/24/2012
Good – Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis (GBA, Atlus/Quest)
I love this box. It’s a delightful scene, with two knights contemplating while at a beach, with a castle looming in the background. The colors are perfect, and the logo doesn’t take away from the overall beauty of the art. Well done, Atlus.
Bad – Rock Star Ate My Hamster (Amiga, Codemasters)
O_x
Yes, I just crowned this the worst box art in 1988, but it deserves a second drubbing. This art is atrocious. My god. I wonder if Michael Jackson ever saw this one, because he should have sued Codemasters into oblivion for commissioning this unflattering caricature. The newspaper format of the box isn’t terrible, but the art promoting it is, and I don’t want to stare at a quasi-Michael Jackson making a difficult poo. This is gross. *runs off yet again*
Wildcat’s Art Sundays – So…this webcomic: 5/13/2012
Flashback to 9-30-2011 and then 2-12-2012. Okay, now we can march on with that plot thread. Both can be enlarged.
I did promise an explanation of Starshard long ago, but I want to wait a bit longer and develop her a bit more through the comic first. Let me just say that Drew has been souled, removed from his body, by Starshard’s tonfa, in the second panel.
Imagery Updates – Fire Emblem and Persona 4!
A proper Imagery post today, as the shock of discovering my hometown suffering a nasty fire has subsided some. I’ve gotten the high quality Shadow Dragon artwork I have into the Fire Emblem Imagery, but I still have some portrait pieces I found to tweak a bit before uploading. Persona 4 sees more Arena artwork, including Elizabeth’s art and some close-up shots of the protagionist (Yu, right?), Chie and Yosuke, plus a couple of story scenes.
I’ll be back this afternoon with some of my own art!
Fire Emblem Imagery Update – Path of Radiance complete (for now), more Awakening DLC
Just a quick update to let you know I’ve gotten what I could up for Path of Radiance into the Imagery (there’s several characters without art up, but I’ll remedy that when I can. They haven’t been released!), plus two more DLC characters for the 3DS Awakening have been added.
This post is short and to the point, yes, but it just so happens that a significant section of my hometown caught on fire last night, including my old bookstore gig, and I’m a little dumbstruck at the moment. You may not see me again today. I’m shaken and disturbed, and it’s going to take some time to fully comprehend what has happened.
Wildcat’s Art Sunday – So…this webcomic: 5/6/2012
In case the two preceding posts failed to warn you, hey, I got some art done!
Let’s kick off with the one I’m happy with. Janelle, of course. I really got her character look down on this one. I’m very happy with its final result, and I hope I can keep this in mind when I draw her next. This is Janelle.
On the flip side is Shi, who is too elongated for her own good. XD She’s supposed to be 4’10 or so, and that is not at all apparent in this sketch. I’m also not too pleased with her face. Ah, the foibles of drawing.
I have two finals this week, but I still plan to draw, so expect something next Sunday, too!
Wildcat’s Art Sunday – Fan Art: My Favorite Games Rough Draft
