Trailer Tuesdays – Silent Hill 3 and Juno

Yeah, I’m on “vacation”, but I still wanted to do some of the lighter features over the week, and being inspired by the PS1 Silent Hill, I wanted to share the Silent Hill 3 E3 trailer. Ignore the crappy “Happy birthday” singing the first fifteen or so seconds. :p

And for something completely different, here’s the trailer for Juno, another of my favorite movies.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Weekly Whose Line? – …Whose Line?

Ah yes, that awkwardly named game that makes searching for it difficult. XD This is a great playing of the game with rolling accents a-plenty.

Trailer Tuesdays – Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Princess Mononoke

Hey everyone! Nester’s about to embark on a move, so he will be unable to keep up his features for a little bit. In the meantime, I’ll try to fit into his shoes on Trailer Tuesdays. Today I bring you the original trailer for Zelda: Twilight Princess, way back before it even had its surname. I remember seeing this with my fencing friends and I, who were all huge into Nintendo back in 2004. Man. We were excited. Twilight Princess ended up being fairly great, too, so I’m happy. :)

As for a film selection, may as well do my favorite movie! Hm, both have “princess” in their names. Coincidence?

Weekly Whose Line? – World’s Worst x 2

I’ve rarely spotlighted this game before, so let’s make that up a little. It has its golden moments, that’s for sure. Since they tend to be short, here’s two to tide you over. :)

Trailer Tuesdays – Resident Evil 6 and The Expendables 2

Resident Evil 6 (Capcom)

The latest entry in Capcom’s classic horror franchise is the largest and most expensive to date. But will it return to its survival-horror roots, or will it continue to be action-oriented like Resident Evil 5? We’ll find out this November.

The Expendables 2 (Lionsgate, Nu Image/Millennium Films)

Wow. That trailer will put hair on your chest. The original Expendables survived on its ensemble gimmick, and the sequel looks to be upping the ante in that regard. Plus, Stallone vs. Van Damme? This I have to see.

Weekly Whose Line? – Mother’s Day Edition

Sorry for the day delay, but we’re still on for Whose Line? fun this weekend. Today I’ve got two singing games relating to mothers. Enjoy!

Trailer Tuesdays – Pandora’s Tower and The Princess Bride

Pandora’s Tower (Nintendo, Ganbarion)

As Operation Rainfall begins wrapping up Pandora’s Tower month, we take another look at this unique game. The developers have stated that love was the main theme for Pandora’s Tower, but its story is rather unsettling. If you’re able to stomach the scenes in which Elena consumes the repulsive innards of Aeron’s slain monsters, players will get a different ending depending on how they handled the relationship between the two.

The Princess Bride (20th Century Fox, ACT III Communications)

Continuing the theme, we see here another story about true love. The satirical tale of Westley and Buttercup is a classic fantasy-adventure, although I personally don’t think this trailer does it any justice. But don’t let it put you off. It’s a fantastic film all around.

Weekly Whose Line? – Cinco de Mayo Edition

Here’s two clips that have a bit of a Mexican tinge to them. Enjoy your Cinco de Mayo!

Gaming TV From Yesteryear – Video Power, “Deaf Ears”

Gaming TV From Yesteryear

This episode of Video Power loosely carries a baseball theme, as it was apparently part of “World Series Week.” Games covered include Bases Loaded II: Second Season, Gauntlet II, Captain Skyhawk, Double Dragon II: The Revenge, and Baseball Simulator 1.000.

The Power Team cartoon involves a young girl, who I guess is supposed to be dear, that runs away from home. Mr. Big thinks she overhears his plans to steal some guns, and goes after her. Of course, then it’s up to the Power Team to find her first.

Thanks to StillGaming2 on YouTube for posting these full Video Power episodes!

Trailer Tuesdays – Rebel Strike and The Empire Strikes Back

Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike (LucasArts, Factor 5)

Much like Return of the Jedi, not everyone appreciated the third chapter of Factor 5′s Rogue Squadron series. But I always really like this trailer for it, mainly because of the way it uses actual footage from the films, which also appear in-game. When I first saw Luke in the trailer, it kinda blew me away.

The Empire Strikes Back (20th Century Fox, Lucasfilm)

This is the original trailer for “Episode V” from 1979. There are two great things about this trailer. First, there’s no voice over. The imagery and music are perfectly effective on their own. Second, that “shutter” effect it uses to present the characters is really cool.
